About You
You will provide leadership, expertise, project support in analyzing material performance and oversee the activities involved in the procurement of spare part components required for production and sales orders from outside suppliers, other STIHL Group subsidiaries and STIHL Germany. Coordinate the outflow of parts and materials to branches, distributors, STIHL Group subsidiaries and STIHL Germany. Analyze, plan, schedule and track orders to meet MRP generated demand. Maintain appropriate levels of materials and suppliers. Escalates challenges to management as necessary. Incumbents work under minimal supervision.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the complete order lifecycle, from analysis, sourcing, planning to release, control, rescheduling, and cancellation, adhering to MRP (Material Requirement Planning)-generated requirements.
- Reviews and analyze procurement requirements and production schedules, monitors inventory levels and reconciles inventory levels with planning schedules. monitor procurement plans, purchase orders and related shipment notices for imported items from STIHL production companies.
- Initiate orders for a defined group of spare part components from outside suppliers (incl. Extended Workbench), other STIHL Group subsidiaries and STIHL Germany.
- Develops and cultivates positive relationships with suppliers, customers and peers on daily basis. Coordinate and collaborate with other departments (Sales, Technical Services, Production, Procurement Supply Chain, etc.) to achieve goals, timelines for new product launches, etc.
- Monitors order fulfillment and resolves problems with internal and external personnel as required.
- Maintains adequate supply to meet demands while keeping inventory levels at desired targets consistent with ABC consumption analysis.
- Works with supplier to choose the appropriate mode of transportation to meet requirements yet keeping transportation costs at a minimum.
- Schedules and expedites orders, follows up on deliveries by communicating with suppliers, STIHL Group subsidiaries, warehouses, purchasing or other internal personnel regarding order status and changes in delivery dates or quantities. Coordinate transportation of materials with consideration for just-in-time delivery and warehouse space constraints.
- Researches, plans, develops and participates in continuous improvement projects designed to change or alter current policies, procedures and/or systems with respect to material logistics and planning. Analyze current business processes and recommend changes to the department manager.
- Creating demand planning forecasts for spare part material requirements, including estimating seasonal fluctuations in demand. Maintain SAP Master Data and A3 forecast parameters to improve forecast accuracy.
- Balances levels of inventory to accommodate the inflow and outflow of materials, parts or products required to implement engineering product changes. Works with engineering to define future changes and plan for inventory requirements.
- Works with other department personnel, such as production, quality assurance, engineering, etc. to rectify defective or unacceptable goods or to change future order requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
Specifications
- 5 years experience in Material/Demand Planning
- Strategic & Critical Thinking Skills
- Intermediate Excel Experience other Microsoft applications
- SAP experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify areas of risk and propose creative solutions
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to clearly communicate.
